From publishing books to presenting at a conference to advancing in their career, our alumni are leaders in their communities and industries. Here are just a few recent accomplishments.

Meet Our NU Results

Donna Bennett, Master of Science in Information Assurance, Class of 2006
As the chief information security officer (CISO) for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Bennett recieved regional accolades and named to D.C.'s Top 50 Women in Tech 2016.  In a recent project, she led a team in conducting penetration tests for FEMA's regional program offices in order to test security and fix holes in the network.

James Garrity, Master of Arts in Diplomacy, Class of 2016
In the spring 2016 edition of the Journal of International Relations, Garrity had his article "Deliberately Designed Diplomacy" published. His article focuses on how Ireland rebuilt its postitive international reputation after its sovereign debt crisis of 2008-2014. The journal is peer-reviewed published by the Sigma Iota Rho Honor Society for International Studies. Garrity's article begins on page 145 of this digital copy of the journal.

Christopher Hetner, Master of Science in Information Assurance, Class of 2005
Hetner was named Senior Advisor to the Chair for Cybersecurity Policy for the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in June 2016. In this role, he is responsible for coordinating efforts across the agency to address cybersecurity policy, engaging with external stakeholders, and further enhancing the SEC’s mechanisms for assessing broad-based market risk.

Patrick Sharrow, Master of Business Administration, Class of 2013
Sharrow was hired by the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority as an airport manager to assess, evaluate, coordinate and oversee daily airport operations in Ogdensburg International Airport in New York. In his new role, he will assist with executing a $26.5 million dollar expansion project.

Jevon Thompson, Master of Public Administration, Class of 2012
In July 2016, Thompson was published on 9-1-1Magazine.com with his article More Than a Call Taker: The Public Safety Dispatcher and Stress. He is also a contributing researcher and writer for Law Officer magazine and LawOfficer.com.

Jason Vitug, Master of Business Administration, Class of 2007
Encountering much success since graduating in 2007, Vitug published two books over the past two years. Most recently, his book titled You Only Live Once: the Roadmap to Financial Wellness and a Purposeful Life recieved high praise from the founder of FinCon, a host for CNBC, and the founder of RockstarFinance.com. In July 2014, he released Crowdfunding a Bootrapped Startup: The Story of How We Hacked Our Way to Success. Vitug is also the founder of Phroogal, an online resource for learning about money and financial sustainability.

Anthony T. Walker, Master of Arts in Diplomacy, Class of 2006
Lieutenant Colonel Walker alongside Major Pete Amadi and Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Koerner taught a United Nations Peacekeeping course for African partners.
