by NU Online on 11/14/19 1:02 PM

2019 has marked many milestones for Norwich University, including the celebration of its bicentennial. For Norwich University Online, 2019 was an exciting year that included the launch of the online RN to BSN program, new military and industry partnerships for scholarships and transfer credit opportunities, traveling to conferences and education fairs around the world to meet with current and prospective students, and the culmination of the online programs at the Annual Residency Conference and commencement. 2020 is set to provide new opportunities for Norwich online students with the launch of seven new online programs and the opening of the Norwich Denver office.

New Partnerships

Making education accessible for our students is very important to Norwich University Online. In 2019, Norwich initiated an effort to build partnerships for student scholarships, and transfer credit opportunities so that students entering into an online program would have the fastest and most affordable academic experience possible.

A highlight of the past year’s activities includes the growth in military partnerships. Military partnerships can help to expedite the credit transfer evaluation process. Servicemembers can use previous training and courses taken toward required credit hours and enter into one of the online bachelor’s degree programs as quickly as possible. Students can transfer up to 90 credits into an online bachelor’s degree program.

New military partnerships include:

  • Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC)
  • Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States (EANGUS)
  • U.S. Navy Diver (EOD/ND)
  • U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (SEA)

Norwich has also recently partnered with institutions outside of military agreements, which include community colleges, societies, and organizations such as:

  • SecureSet
  • StraighterLine
  • Society of American Military Engineers (SAME)
  • The Institute for Public Procurement (NIGP)
  • UMBC Training Centers
  • Federal Publications Seminars (FPS)
  • American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC)

There are also tuition discount opportunities for Norwich partnered organizations. There are many more scholarship and transfer credit possibilities at Norwich, so we encourage you to contact an admissions counselor at 1 (866) 684-7237 or learn@norwich.edu to learn more!

Launch of RN to BSN Program

In April 2019, Norwich kicked off the year by debuting the online RN to BSN program. The online Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, which is taught by subject matter experts in the field who all hold master’s degrees, addresses the specific needs nurses have to enhance their skillset in diagnosing and evaluating nursing interventions, prepare for a master’s degree, or expand into a different healthcare field.

Nurses who would like to earn a master’s degree upon completion of the online RN-BSN program may fast track into the online Master of Science in Nursing program through an expedited application process. Also, in 2020, Norwich is launching seven new online programs, including an online Master of Science in Nursing-Nurse Practitioner program with three certificate paths – adult gerontology, family, and psychiatric mental health – so that nurses have more opportunities to achieve their career goals through Norwich programs.

Norwich Pro Launch

At the beginning of 2019, Norwich's continuing education platform, Norwich Pro, launched. Norwich Pro, which provides certificate programs in an online, flexible learning environment, started with its military history certificate program. In addition to the military history certificate program, Norwich Pro also offers certificate programs in project management, PMP/CAPM exam prep intensive, corporate compliance, supply chain, leadership, strategic communications, public works institute, as well as custom online certificate programs for businesses and organizations.
