March 2021
The Norwich Pro team attended and presented at the 2021 Global Special Operations Forces (SOF) Foundation US Symposium, held in Tampa, Florida, March 12-17, 2021. The team, consisting of Norwich Director of Partnerships Kevin Beal, Norwich Pro Director Daniel Daoust, LTC (Ret.), and Norwich University class of 1995 alumna Dr. Alicia Fuller, Ph.D. delivered a four-hour presentation to an international audience.

The team’s presentation entitled “Personality and Skills Assessment: Considerations for Selecting the Future SOF Operator,” was based on ongoing research regarding the future required skills and attributes that the U.S.’ elite military forces will need both now and into the future. The three main subject areas focused on adaptive/transformational leadership, particularly regarding Norwich’s Mental Toughness Development

program, and advanced technology cognitive skills focused on human-machine and artificial intelligence.
Representatives from international SOF partners included those from Germany, Denmark, Czech Republic, Belgium, and Chile. The team was honored at the closing ceremonies with a commemorative plaque from the Global SOF Foundation for their participation in the symposium and as the Foundation’s Academic Partner.
Through contacts made at the event, we can provide more services and educational opportunities to our partner SOF community in the future.
